Nairobi National Park.

A few kilometers from the city centre is Nairobi National Park, a 114 sq km of un-spoilt plains and woodland.

Approximately 80 species of large mammals – excluding elephants are found here, among them being the gazelles, warthogs, zebras, giraffes, black rhinos, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs and leopards among many others. This park is noted to have the leading concentration of black rhinos and the wetland areas supporting more than 550 recorded species of birds attracting many bird watchers. The park is unfenced and therefore animals migrate into the park where water is almost always available.

Adjacent to the park is the Animal Orphanage, shelter to stray, wounded and orphaned animals. These are released to the wild once well enough or old enough.
