This superb safari takes you to many of Kenya’s finest game reserves, encompassing a stunning variety of landscapes and wildlife – from harsh, rugged wilderness of Samburu via forested Aberdares and the lakes of the Great Rift Valley to the open savannah of Masai Mara. The treeless plains of Samburu provide a habitat for numerous rare species. Aberdare National Park, forming the eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley, incorporates moorlands and high forests. Nakuru, best known for its flamingos, also has many other species, including the Rothschild giraffe, warthog, water-buck, buffalo, gazelle, reedbuck and hippo; and Masai Mara, located in the south-west of Kenya, shares its border with Tanzania. Here the open savannah, dotted with acacia trees contains an astonishing concentration of game.
